About
I think anyone can become a maker.
Most people just need the tools, someone to show them how, and room to get things wrong the first time.
That’s where most of my time outside class goes. As Head Steward of the Harvey Mudd Makerspace, I help run a fabrication space used by 1,200+ students across the 5Cs, with trainings and workshops for every skill level. On MuddSub, our RoboSub team, I take new members from their first machining project to owning a subsystem of Crush, our new underwater vehicle.
My own work runs from circuit boards to metals: wind sensors for an autonomous boat off Dana Point, a 14-LED ring for fluorescence imaging, and 21 experimental copper alloys at UNSW Sydney to take the lead out of bearings.
I grew up in Singapore, study in California, and spent last summer researching in Sydney. In each place I’ve hunted down the best gelato and the best cliffside view. The rest of the time, I’m on my next build.
